Welcome and thanks for your interest in the NU Judo Team!
General Information:

For those with no previous experience, registration for the Introductory Judo class is currently underway at the front desk of the Marino Center - see the link provided on the left for more information. This semester-long intro course teaches the fundamentals of Judo for anyone interested and is also considered a prerequisite to becoming a member of the Judo team.
Open practices will be held throughout the month at the times listed below for people who would like to sit in on a practice. The team’s head coach as well as the coach of the Intro Class and club officers will be available to answer any questions both before and after practice.

Attendance:
Attendance to three of the four classes per week is a minimum requirement during the fall and spring semesters. There is no attendance policy for the summer semester. There is a maximum of three allowed absences per semester (permitted for midterms/finals/personal reasons). Any additional absences will result in suspension from the team for the remainder of the semester. Attendance is important for conditioning and training in order to prepare for tournaments throughout the year. Please keep in mind there is a big time commitment involved with participation in the club.
Additional Information:
The training is competition-style-based and as such all members are required to compete in order to be part of the team. It is also required that members train solely with the Judo team during the scholastic year (September to April) and do not practice or compete in any other martial art. This policy is to reduce the risk of injury and to provide a better learning environment for the team’s members. For additional information, please feel free to contact us.
